Issue Climate change, and its impacts on ecological, agricultural other societal systems, is most often studied by relying temperature data derived from countrywide weather-station networks. Yet, these do not capture microclimates, those arising soil, vegetation topography, at spatial scales relevant to the majority of organisms Earth. We argue that a unified strategy missing design regional or networks measure microclimates thus provide ecologically sound climate data, for instance modelling biodiversity ecosystem functions. Evidence Here, we develop an integrative framework effective microclimate potential implementation country level.
